Downtown New Haven Engagement : Steven & Ilma

Oh My Goodness! This Engagement Session was one of my all time favorites! Growing up in Connecticut, I have always loved downtown New Haven and the beautiful architecture. Yale University, which is located right in the heart of NewHaven, is one of the most beautiful college campus's I have ever seen! I knew that my next trip to Connecticut, I wanted to do a photoshoot there. Ilma and Steven couldn't of been more perfect for this session.

Not only is Ilma a great friend of mine, she is recently engaged and is an AMAZING designer. She's an artist and also designs dresses. So of course she is wearing a dress she designed herself! It was absolutely stunning. The low cut back was my favorite!

I was so grateful I was able to spend the evening with them. Every turn we took, there was more beauty right around the corner. Everything from old window panes, beautiful arches, old doors, tall columns, and vintage street lamps. If all of my sessions had those features, I would be the happiest photographer! Hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Country Sunset Bridal Portraits

Nancy made the most beautiful Southern Belle Bride I have ever seen! Her bridal portrait session couldn't of been any more perfect. Okay, well besides the fact that I was attacked by mosquitos, fire ants and walked through mounds of dirt fields in a dress! HA! Nancy is lucky that I love her! We also went riding around the fields in an open jeep with Nancy standing on the outside holding on as tight as she can. It was definitely a sight to see!

Two things I loved about this session : 1) Nancy's dress was TWO PIECES! She looked amazing in it! 2) Her flowers were made of WOOD! Her bouquet was made from Sola flowers, which is soft wood shaped into floral designs. How cool is that!? I could't of asked for a better sunset to end the night.

I love when brides choose to add a Bridal Portrait session to their wedding collection. It's the perfect time to do a trial run on your hair, makeup and flowers! Wedding days can be so crazy at times, that you don't always get an extended time to take pictures of JUST the bride. Having a bridal portrait session allows us to take our time and show off every little detail that you worked so hard in planning. And...you get a chance to wear your dress one extra time!

Married at The Bradford : Jonathan & Erica

When my husband and I first moved to North Carolina, Jon and Erica were one of the first couples we connected with. Of course at the time, they were only dating. We have had the pleasure of getting to know them, seeing them through dating, plotting and helping with the proposal, capturing the proposal, all the way to their wedding day! And if you notice the tan attractive man who married them under the altar, that's my husband! Victor and I played two special parts for their wedding. He was the officiant and I was the photographer! What a team!

Jon and Erica's wedding took place at the Bradford in New Hill, North Carolina. It is easily becoming my new favorite wedding venue. It is European inspired with a breathtaking terrace out back. Their wedding was just in time for the brand new bridal suite upstairs. Blush colored walls, perfect natural lighting, and that romantic sofa! Couldn't help but to take extra bridal portraits and detail shots. Erica looked so beautiful!

I was able to witness the sweetest First Look. As Erica stepped out of the house and walked towards her soon to be husband, Jon couldn't help but to tear up. I'm not going to lie...it was a little hard to do my job and keep it together as well! The day continued on, they said "I do", the cake was cut, a bouquet was caught, the garter was thrown and we danced the night away! We love you guys so much! Thank you for letting us be a part of your day. Hope you two are having an amazing time in Jamaica!

Country Club Wedding : Keir & Nadia

Nadia and Keir's wedding took place at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, North Carolina. The whole day was nothing short of amazing. Nadia originally contacted me when she was still living in Trinidad and Tobago. We finally got a chance to meet at their engagement session in April. I knew good things were in store for the wedding day by the way Nadia and Keir interacted with each other. They were silly, flirtatious and so in love! Nadia's son, Ronalon joined us for the engagement session. And can I say what a character he is! He is so sweet and funny! The relationship he has with his Mom is so admirable.

Originally, their wedding day had rain in the forecast, but not one drop fell from the sky. The clouds worked in our favor and we were able to catch the most gorgeous sunset lighting for bride and groom portraits later in the night! We started the day with the sweetest First Look. From then on, Nadia and Keir were so easy to work with. You can tell they were so excited to get married and start life together as Husband and Wife. Nadia's smile is just infectious, that when I saw them smiling at each other, I couldn't help but to smile with them. They are the type of couple that you just want to be around!

The night went on and the reception was filled with beautiful floral arrangements, impeccable details, laughter, love and intimate speeches. I hear a lot of toasts during weddings, so it takes a lot for me to tear up. But that was until I heard Ronalon's speech as the Best Man. He went on saying that typically the Best Man gives a speech of the Groom and how he has known him for years. This case was different. He didn't know Keir his entire life, but the bond they have is so special. He continued on by saying, "Although I am the Best Man, YOU are the Best Man I've ever known!" I don't think there was a dry eye in that room. Being the charmer that he is, he then went on saying, "hopefully this speech and kind words will get me out of chores in the future!" Hahaha!

Keir and Nadia, your day was perfect. Your families were so kind and welcoming. I wish you both nothing but a lifetime of love and happiness. It was an honor to document your special day!

NC State Club Wedding : Alex & Christina

Where do I begin with Alex and Christina's wedding! From the moment I walked in the Mother of the Bride's home, I felt welcomed! Everyone was so sweet!

One of my favorite parts of the morning, was Christina slipping into her dress. Looking back, I saw her Mom and all of her bridesmaids tearing up in the doorway. At that moment, she felt like a true bride. Can we talk about the girls flowers for a second!? The bright colors were the perfect match for her navy details. They looked stunning with the bridesmaids navy blue dresses. The ceremony was in Wake Forest followed by the reception at The State Club in Raleigh.

It was my first wedding at this venue, but I sure hope it's not the last. Everything from the marble floors to the crystal chandeliers were just jaw-dropping. After their grand entrance as husband and wife, Alex and Christina went straight into their first dance. From that moment on, I think they stayed on the dance floor until the sun set! I told Christina I wished I could of been a guest at their wedding! I had so much fun and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of their special day! I loved getting to know Alex and Christina and I loved their friends and family! Hope you two are having a blast in Costa Rica!

Downtown Raleigh Engagement : John & Nancy

John and Nancy belong to the same church as my husband and I. Ever since we moved to North Carolina, they have showed nothing but kindness to us. I was so honored when they reached out to me asking if I can be their wedding photographer! They are so adorable and their love is so sweet! We started the night in downtown Raleigh and then made our way to Pullen Park. Since Nancy is a dance instructor, it was only fitting that we pulled out our "Dirty Dancing" Patrick Swayze moves! Scroll down if you want to see the cutest attempts at "The Lift!" I can't wait for their southern style wedding in June!

Christmas Wedding : Dane & Emily

Dane and Emily had the most perfect day for a December wedding! From their Christmas bouquets, to red bow ties and red lipstick. And you guys know I'm always a fan of a bride who can pull off a bold lip! Dane and Emily had their first look at the Rand Bryan House in Garner. They ended their session dancing through the sweetest golden light sunset. We headed back to the church for their intimate ceremony. I couldn't help but tear up when I see two people choosing to put each other first for the rest of their lives. God is going to bless their marriage and I know they are going to do some amazing things together! The night ended with a little kiss under mistletoe and a sparkler exit. Thank you so much Dane, Emily, and families for letting me capture your special day. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and gratitude you showed me!

Annie Louise Wilkerson Park Engagement : Jonathan & Erica

Where do I even begin with Jon and Erica. When my husband and I moved to North Carolina, they were some of the first people that we connected with and became friends with. We have seen them through ups and downs and all the way to their proposal! Jon had asked my husband and I to play a part in the proposal in which Erica thought was a "Family Photoshoot." We were able to capture the entire day and moment for them. Fast forward to their actually engagement session and I couldn't be happier! They were the easiest couple to  photograph. I had to keep telling them to stop doing "cute stuff" while my camera wasn't pointed at them! They are some of my favorite people and their love is so evident in all of these pictures. I can not wait for their wedding in May!

Bay 7 Wedding : Jason & Lisa

Jason and Lisa's wedding had the most gorgeous flower arrangements I have ever seen. Blue and gold accents filled the venue! Every little detail was thought out to perfection. Bay 7 in downtown Durham did not disappoint. The American Tobacco District was the perfect back drop for their bride and groom portraits afterwards. Thank you so much Six Foot Photography for letting me join in on this amazing day!

Leslie-Alford Mims House Wedding : Brandon & Kaytlin

It was the calm before the storm...The day before Hurricane Matthew. The day may of been extra cloudy with light rain every now and then, but that didn't stop the celebration! Brandon and Kaytlin had their wedding in the beautiful Leslie-Alford Mims House in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The staircases were decorated with garland and the mantle pieces topped with wisteria colored arrangements. The rain held off long enough to take portraits on the patio under the market lights. It was a beautiful wedding and I'm glad I was able to be a part of it! Congratulations to Brandon and Kaytlin!

Barclay Villa Wedding : Gregory & Barbara

This Fairytale Wedding was definitely one for the books! Nothing like getting married in a castle  to feel like a princess on your wedding day. One of my favorite moments was seeing the look on Barbara's face when her husband surprised her with a Horse and Carriage ride! Barbara and Greg were some of the sweetest and sincere couples I have met. Thank you for letting me be a part of your magical day!

JC Raulston Engagement : Bethany & Peter

So excited to share Bethany and Peter's session! It may of been a hot and humid day, but they rocked it in their photoshoot! I can feel the emotion and love looking through these photos. And for me, that is the most important part of my job! I want to create organic and natural images so when you look at a photo, you don't see a photographer posing two people...you see two people in love. From this session, I see two people in love...
